"It's my third day at Hemingway!!!! WOW!!!! First of all, London is crazy!!!! Especially the journey to work and back! People at Hemingway are really nice and friendly. I'm working on such a big project, a real challenge, this is real stuff! I can't believe it. The project is about creating an environmental design, an ambitious piece. I'm enjoying it!
WOW, working at Hemingway Design was exciting as well as relaxing. The first week I was so anxious, always thinking "what if..." You know I was just seeing the real thing, and of course, working with Wayne Hemingway is a dream come true. I was involved in a project that is to give a new use to a building in Manchester city centre. It was hard work but I tried my best. Wayne has been reviewing my work from time to time, and I was so relieved when he said that is a nice idea...hahaha The working environment was so relaxing, we had lunch in the office and lunch time is whenever we are hungry. REALLY cool!!! During the first week, the journeys to and from work were so fresh and eye opening events, I have never ever seen so many people squashed together like tin fish, and every single stops people still manage to squeeze in.
At the beginning I was kind of terrified and amazed of how people live in London, but then the second week I kind of starting get used to it and the whole journey became more enjoyable listening to my music and not worrying if I miss the stop. Ok will be back later with more!!!!
Oh, forgot to mention something very exciting!!!! After my placement at Hemingway, NOISE Festival invited me for a local radio interview in Manchester, Levenshulme called All FM...Basically it was about the creative arts happening in Manchester and NOISE Festival is the guest of the show. Actually I hate myself now, 'cos I missed the transmission, urghh, it was today 31st December at 12pm and I forgot about it. Well, NOISE promised me to give me a copy of the 1 hour radio show!
Following on from Hui's placement at Hemingway Design in December 2006, Wayne has recently invited her back to work with him and his company on a more permanent basis...watch this space!
