SUBMITTED WORK  Garden Furniture The Garden Furniture project came about through an interest in making sculpture that uses both permanent and ephemeral materials, altering a static piece of furniture by covering it in living, growing grass, the work therefore changes over time, altering itself, a process that is beyond my control. These sculptures have no definite end point, rather they are in this state of flux, continuing to evolve after they have been realised. Precariously ready to break, die or change further, a common factor occurring within the work. Carcass The outer layer of a wooden chair was carved till the point of collapse, leaving its 'skinned' remains. |
