After completing a BA (Hons) course in Textile Design at Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels, I decided to start my own business.
As 'WildCat Designs' I enjoy designing and creating funky knitted and felted accessories such as badges, scarves and bags.
I'm inspired by everything from pop culture to cobwebs and retro kitsch to vintage clothing.

Lace Scarf
This is a gorgeous, soft and fluffy scarf knitted in an intricate lacy pattern which looks like a series of waves. The yarn used is a white silk and mohair yarn with a glamourous silver shimmer through it.

Hand-Felted Wrap
This scarf was made on a knitting machine with lambswool in a soft ivory with light grey marl through it and stripes of baby blue and dark grey. I then laid raw wool fibre (tops/roving) across the length and needlepunched these to allow them mesh with the scarf. The whole thing was hand-felted using a wet process (very messy!). Fibres are mostly white with flashes of hot pink, minty green and charcoal for highlights. I also stitched across some of the sections - part decoration and partly to secure the fibres a bit more. This is an irregular scarf - it doesn't have a symmetrical pattern, but it is beautiful in its own right. I was inspired by the great Victorian glass-houses in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh when I designed it.

Space Invader Scarf, Version 2.0
Ch-check it out... Inspired by those little aliens, an 80s-tastic Space Invaders scarf. Whizzed up on the knitting machine using Merino Lambswool then felted for super softness.

Butterflies
This is a funky 3-D badge, which can alternatively be used as a pincushion. Made from two different fabrics; front is a knitted, felted lambswool fabric and backing is made of felt on the reverse. The edges are oversewn with a silky embroidery thread and it's filled with 100% recycled lambswool yarn, waste from my other other projects.

Ms. Pac-Man
This design came about through a commission. I was asked to create a scarf for someone who was a huge (ms) pac-man fan! Handknitted using fine Merino lambswool yarn.

Electric Blue Lace Scarf
Hand-knitted scarf made with two yarns combined, electric blue mohair and bright blue acrylic. I used an open, intricate design to give the scarf a beautiful delicacy.
