NOISE builds the official social networking website for 'Portrait of a Nation'.

NOISE also delivers national youth projects for third parties such as the Heritage Lottery Fund, who commissioned NOISE to build the official website for the national “Portrait of a Nation” project.

The social networking website linked national exchange of ideas and co-ordination across 17 UK cities with 3,000 young people aged 11-25, with half a million hits. 

Young people across the UK are invited to work on projects that demonstrate their cultural roots. The 1 year Portrait of a Nation culminates in a national showcase of the best projects, as part of the Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008.

The website includes blogs, photo slideshows and video clips, created by young people across Belfast, Birmingham, Bradford, Brighton, Bristol, Canterbury, Cardiff, Derby, Inverness, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Gateshead, Norwich, Nottingham and Oxford. The project gives young people a chance to extend and grow their networks beyond their own city. An interactive heritage map also helped to bridge all of the local heritage connections.

Portrait of a Nation and website training days hosted by NOISE has helped to raise awareness of the NOISE brand throughout City Councils and youth groups across the UK.
