Caroline is interested in the relationships between object / tangible materials, meaning-making / narrative, and technology / making. She creates tools to encourage creativity and imagination. Her work generally encourages participants to both create and reflect on physical artefacts that are shared with others to open a dialogue, facilitating the emergence of new ideas.
Caroline’s dissertation, "Interpretive handling objects for mediating experiential learning in gallery settings", received a distinction. She has presented her research and practice at various conferences, looking particularly at how creative, participatory and tactile experiences can encourage museum visitors’ engagement and create new insights about the artefacts on display.
