introduction

I take inspiration from everything around me but I love the patterns found in rock formations and plant cell micrographs, I love being able to make things, I mostly work from things in my head but I used to get told off for not drawing out my ideas so i've started to try and put pen to paper first.

The main focus for my work has been based around plant cells or more specifically plant cell micrographs. I looked at how these had been aesthetically coloured and took this into glass to make murrini canes which were used to represent individual cells to form the structure. I also looked at crystals/gemstones both hand cut and naturally formed and combined this into the development of my glass work. I take inspiration from everything around me, I love rock formations and the patterns they form and also the patterns found in the plant micrographs.
